Probably THE best experience I've had buying a vehicle. A few minutes after I parked in their lot I was approached only so that I was acknowledged. Jim was hands-off, letting us look through all the cars and checking back once to ask if we had any questions. When we were ready, we chatted with him about the car we'd selected. We left, came back and he had the car ready for us to test-drive, again without interference.
People seem laid back, decent selection and decent range of prices - but parking sucks, you'd be better off parking in the neighborhood beyond the lot and walking down.
Called ahead of time, drove two hours in the snow and rain to sit and wait as the car we called about was sold. They are not very considerate to customer. A good dealership would have been considerate enough to put the car on hold until we got there... Thanks for wasting four hours of my time. I do not recommend this dealership.
Once we'd decided on a car- WITHOUT any input from him other than giving us the key- he assisted us with the financing, letting us know that going through our bank would be cheaper than him running a credit check, with better rates and a pay schedule that we could customize. He also let us know about the warranty the company offers, and gave us two weeks to think about putting it on the car.
Cons: There were fake fees for registration/title transfer, despite it being paid for elsewhere. I was also pressured to sign an arbitration agreement "or else we can't transfer the title to you", ...after I had paid for it.
Pros: the sales guy, Glen, was hands-off, giving me plenty of time to check over a vehicle. He was also fine with me borrowing the vehicle for a couple of hours to get an independent mechanic's inspection. The van was an OK deal, a 2007 Toyota Sienna with 84K miles for $8.5K, but it needed $3000 in repairs.
We'd been shopping all day and couldn't find anything in the price range we were looking in...and getting frustrated. We were looking for a car for my 16 year old son. We went to Rich's to look at a Volkswagen and we were met by Sean. He was very nice and did not pressure us. He told us to take our time and just let him know if we saw something. We asked to drive the Volkswagen and got us the keys quickly. He told us to take as long as we wanted on the test drive. We decided to buy it and got it for a great price! Sean made the process easy and quick...he was very accommodating with our paperwork. Highly recommend Rich's and I would go back for sure! Thanks Sean!
I think it's possible to find a decent vehicle here, but watch yourself. The vehicles may need a lot of work, and be prepared for all sorts of BS when making the purchase itself. Have your financing lined up beforehand and know your rights *exactly*.
I bought a van here almost a month ago.
Overall fantastic service with Jim, and while I hope our new car lasts us a good deal, I know where I'll look next time I need a vehicle.
