I have friends in the KC Police and family members in other police departments. The officer I just ran into at a fire in Fircrest is one that gives all our police departments a bad name. I truly respect what our police departments do for our city, but I do not appreciate being treated like a criminal and disrespected just because I'm curious about a fire only a block from my home. I didn't want to get closer to the fire all I asked was what was on fire. I was told to just get out, that the cones were there for a reason. The cones were. It marked in any way and were stacked and not blocking the road. I was just barely past them and standing trying to see what was burning when he walked up to me and pointed back the way I came. When I asked what was burning he just pointed again and said,"that is what the cones are for". I asked again what is burning and all he did was point back the way I came. That is no way to treat the general public. It just another example of why so many people dislike our, hard working, life saving, totally dedicated men and women that put their lives on the line every time they show up for work. It is a job I would not like and I thank everyone I meet every time. Why do some have to make the job harder for the rest?
